About the Artist

I design and create handmade wearable art jewelry.   My “Art You Can Wear” pieces include woven fibers and metals, gemstones, and textured metals in designs that incorporate a variety of jewelry techniques.  Each piece is lovingly and painstakingly crafted by me from the finest materials.

My “Designer Lines” are one-of-a-kind, including some wire sculptures in sterling, fine silver, or gold wire that highlight the included gems.  Other pieces are available in limited numbers and can be made using a variety of metals and stones. Each piece of jewelry you see here is one-of-a-kind, personally designed by me.

Creativity is a continuing journey – I constantly experiment with new materials and approaches, so each design has unique characteristics and qualities. My goal is to create a work of art that brings enjoyment whether it is worn or displayed.

My love of jewelry and jewelry making began early.  As I was growing up, my family spent happy times exploring the Appalachians and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The crafts and jewelry I saw as a small child inspired me.  After earning a Ph.D. in chemistry, I began my explorations with lapidary arts and silversmithing.  Over the years, my explorations have included a wide range of weaving and jewelry techniques. Crystals and their various forms have long intrigued me.  I love the glitter and often include them in my pieces for their texture and eye-catching qualities.long life’s way, I also became fascinated with Middle Eastern dance. I was intrigued by the dancers’ elaborate costumes and the detailed bead work.  You can see the influence of this period in some of my designs.
